8 more days

8 more days until we move. After so many months of praying, talking, praying, praying and more praying the time to move is almost here. We can hardly believe it. Getting to this point has been SO long yet so short.....

I realize it almost ridiculous to try to sum up all thats happened in the last year...so we hope you'll join us on our adventure as we unfold where we have been and where we are going...

A year ago, almost exactly in fact, John and Jenn were approached by Johns father...asking them to pray about moving to Peru to help him out with some business ventures he has.  He believed that they would say no and at best go to Peru once or twice  year to help out when possible. That is lesson number one for us....Asking for what seems to be the impossible is EXACTLY what the Lord is asking us to do.  Johns first response was exactly what his father expected...No. But Jenn's first response was not...lesson number two for us....Wait and listen for the Lord to speak. After praying about it they pulled Virgil and I aside to fill us in. As soon as the words flowed out of their mouths the Lord spoke to me....Virgil and I needed to pray about this for our own lives. And then those words came out of Johns mouth..."Will you guys pray and consider about what the Lord wants you to do." Wait what???? Did he just say that out loud? Yes he did. We agreed. As a family we prayed and prayed and prayed. We asked our family to pray and after a few months asked our friends to pray.

The Lord has taught us SO much this last year through our friends and family. Its amazing how God will entire twin Himself into our lives....EVERY last stinking detail, when we allow. From the selling of our business only 30 days prior to all of this starting, to the books we read....which side note if you have not read "Radical" by David Platt I highly recommend it. The Lord knows exactly what He is doing....crazy huh?

So obviously we made our choice. We are moving to Peru.  And although this all came about because of a business venture...its not about that at all. Yes we have to put food on our tables and shelter over our heads...but that's it. We aren't looking for the next great thing...the American dream or the Peruvian dream. We are looking for the Lord to do amazing things. We have always believed and wanted to do missions in a self supported manner so here it is...here we go. Thank you for praying for us.

As we go on this adventure together we will unfold some of the dreams and visions the Lord has put on our hearts. Until then join with us and pray that as we make our transition we don't loose focus. That in the midst of ceiling high boxes and airplane flight and unknown places we will seek His face more then ever before. Please pray that we will be joined together more as a family then ever before. Please pray that Jenn and Virgil will learn the language quickly. Please pray that above ALL other things Christ will be all over our faces and the Peruvian people will come to know an amazing relationship with Him.
